Glasses and Sprinkler Park

Glasses: It all started when last week we took Austin to his 3 year check up (I know a little late, I was just glad that he was still 3 when we made it there).
Austin was growing great and looked great at the doctor but when they did the vison test on him he failed, and he failed, and the third time he failed! So our doctor referred up to a pediatric opthomolgist!  We called to set up an appointment, turned out to be at 7 am on Monday morning!  So daddy, he is a great dad, got up at 6 to get him to his 7 am appointment in Dallas.  Austin was actually excited to go because the night before we told him that he and dad were going on an adventure early in the morning.  So he was super excited as you can see in the picture below.
Turns out that Austin can see almost perfectly in his right eye but his left eye is really bad.  Since it is so bad he bascilly doesn't even use that eye, the doctor called it a lazy eye.  So now we try glasses for 3 months and see if he begins to use that eye, if he doesn't then Austin will become Pirate Austin for 2 hours a day.  We are very grateful that our pediatrician tests their vision so early becuase we would have never guessed he had trouble.  If Austin would have continued to use only one eye the opthomologist said that his eye would contiue to get worse.  So after Austin's appointment Austin and I went to pick out glasses.  We went to Walmart and got some for $29, nothing but the best for my kids :)!!! I can only imagine how many times we will have to replace them.  So his glasses are ordered and will be in in about a week. We have really tried to talk glasses up! He is excited because he will wear glasses like Pops, he will be able to see fast cars on the road, he will look super cute, and best of all when we get the glasses we  will go see Cars 2 in the movie theatre(he is sooooo excited about that)!!!! He is also excited about getting a blue case to hold his new glasses(blue is his favorite color).  I am hoping they come in a blue case, if not I will be searching! So if you talk to Mr. Austin be sure you tell him how cool and exciting it is to get glasses!!!!

After eye doctor and getting glasses we headed to a sprinkler park with some friends. Here are some pictures before our friends joined us!
 Lunch!
Austin got his eyes dialated so he has to wear sunglasses all day!
